Erste Ausgabe. – Der Journalist und Schriftsteller Frederick Boyle (1841-1914) war Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts, wie so viele, ein großer Orchideenliebhaber. – „The literature of orchidology is voluminous in these days. But the bokk written „by an amateur for amateurs“ is still needed… I deal with cool orchids alone in the volume – the class most interesting to the public.“ (Preface). – Gering gebräunt, gutes Exemplar.
