Erste und einzige Ausgabe. – Eins von nur 120 Exemplaren (Nr. 107), die als Privatdruck erschienen. – Exemplar für H.H Schlosser. – Der Jurist Ellis Ames Ballard (1861-1938) glt als einer der größten Sammler Rudyard Kiplings zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts. Die Sammlung wurde 1942 versteigert un die Morgan Library erwarb die seltensten Stücke. – „This Catalogue does not aspire to be ranked as a bibliography… In the case of rarities, presentation copies, manuscripts and unique items, reproductions will bew shown, and I shall indulge in comments and opinions where questions of authorship or priority of issue are involved, and record my personal experiences in procuring masterpieces…“ (Intruductory). – Vor- und Nachsatz leicht leimschattig, sonst sehr gutes Exemplar.
